Repeat after me…Be a leader, not a follower.
Now say it again. And again…
One night I had an epiphany in my sleep where everything clicked and in my brain this voice just telling me, “Hey, you need to start making decisions for yourself. Be fearless. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes because fear is a lie.” Since then, that really resonated with me and I felt it in my bones to my core.
I knew at that point in time I became a leader and gained true, professional growth. I was then ready to succeed by growing my team because that’s exactly who and what a true leader is and does.
One of my goals is to train my team to become a leader themselves one day. I would not have succeeded had I not helped my team grow by being the leader they needed me to be. I have them to thank.
